The boxed set was produced by Mark Powell.

Everyone involved in the NASA space programs can be considered heroes. This video is specifically dedicated to the memories of President John F Kennedy and to the crew of Apollo 1. JFK's 1961 backing for a manned Moon landing was crucial to what was achieved in 1969 with Apollo 11. The crew of Apollo 1 can be seen at 2'50''. Gus Grissom, Roger Chaffee & Ed White died in an accidental fire in January 1967 whilst in the command module on top of the Saturn IB rocket. It was a dress rehearsal for the first Apollo flight. Neil Armstrong and others were of the view that Apollo may not have reached its goal if NASA had not rethought its procedures and spacecraft as a result of this tragedy.

John Young died in January 2018 aged 87 and the video is now also dedicated to the memory of this great NASA pioneer. He commanded the first space shuttle mission having flown to the moon twice and was the only astronaut to fly missions on Gemini, Apollo and the Space Shuttle.
