Описание: West Bengal. The Union government has now sought an explanation from the state administration regarding the arrangements made during her visit to the International Santal Conference near Siliguri.

The Union Home Secretary has asked the West Bengal Chief Secretary to submit a detailed response by 5 PM, raising serious concerns about why the mandatory Blue Book protocol was not followed.

Officials have questioned why Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police were not present to receive or see off the President. Reports suggest that only the Siliguri mayor attended her arrival.

There are also questions about the change of venue for the conference, the route taken by the presidential convoy, and the condition of facilities arranged for the President. Sources claim even basic amenities, including water in the washroom prepared for the President, were reportedly missing.

Authorities have also sought details on possible action against local officials, including the Darjeeling District Magistrate and the Siliguri Police Commissioner.
