Today we're going to take a look at the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-way flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom-fit part, it is designed to fit the 2015 and newer Hyundai Sonatas, except the hybrid models. Now in any custom-fit part I always like to recommend to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for application. Now this part will provide this 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters that we do sell separately. This part does connect very quickly and easily, basically all you have to do is locate the connection points which are behind the taillights on the vehicle, plug in these T-connectors, one on each side. You have this white wire with the eyelet on it, you want to ground that, and then you just run your bonded wire out the back with the 4-way to plug into your trailer. Now this does include this taillight converter which is this black box here, and this is to ensure that your vehicle's wire will match that of your trailer. This converter is constructed using SMT technology, which is Surface Mount Technology, gives you consistent, reliable performance.

Will maximize your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat, and it ensures superior operation even in rough road conditions. It does come with this dust cap for the 4-way, so what you can do is just put that on there, and then when you're not plugged into your trailer, you can just take that 4-way, pop it over those terminals and it keeps them protected from any damage or from the elements. This part is made in the USA, and it does come with everything shown here, the dust cap we mentioned, comes with a nice set of detailed instructions on how to install it and even gives you some good pictures of where your connection points are. It does come with the cable ties, a piece of double-sided tape and a ground screw, so basically when you go to install this you'll go to the trunk of the vehicle, open the trunk and access behind the taillights, and you might want to start on the driver's side and take this set, this T-connector which has the red and the yellow wire in it, that's for the driver's side, and you'll notice it'll show you where to unplug behind your taillight harness or behind your taillight to plug this in and then plug the wiring harness into this. Then again you have your white wire with the eyelet on it, they include this grounding screw. If you have a ground nearby you can use, you can use that, if you need to make one you can use the grounding screw. Then you'll take your other T-connector that has this length of green wire. Green wire is for the passenger side, so you'll run this all the way over to the passenger side and the same way, find the connector and unplug it behind the taillight, plug this in and then the harness into the other end. Once that's all connected, you want to take this converter box, and you don't want this just flapping around, so you want to attach this to a good flat, clean surface.

They give you this piece of double-sided tape that you can use just like that to attach it, or you could even use cable ties if you'd like, and they give you extra cable ties if you need to take up any slack in the wiring, and then again just run this length of wire out the back, and this is what you would plug into your trailer. A few specs on this: the maximum amperage for the stop and turn light circuit is 3 amps per circuit, for the taillight circuit it's 5 amps.
