Avian lice: riding into the future on a fly

Описание: Louse-hippoboscid-bird phoresy interactions are poorly studied despite its implications on bird-louse coevolution and our understanding on why certain species/genera of flies and lice are frequently involved in phoretic relationships.

Here, we investigate what is currently known about louse-hippoboscid-bird phoresy interactions and provide a new protocol to revitalise this life history research through bird carcasses obtained from citizen scientists and NGS DNA barcoding.
