US Stock Futures Tumble Amid U.S-Israel Strikes On Iran, Asia Falls; Subdued Start On D-Street?

Описание: The U.S. futures slumped overnight after the attack on Iran and its retaliation, causing oil prices to rise, along with precious metal demand. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 571 points, or 1.2%. S&P 500 futures lost 1% and Nasdaq 100 futures declined a little more than 1%. Gold futures jumped 2% as investors piled into the global safe haven.


On Friday, US stock market ended lower, dragged down by financial and tech stocks, with all three major indexes posting steep weekly declines. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq logged their steepest monthly declines since March 2025, while the Dow Jones eked out its tenth straight month of gains.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 521.28 points, or 1.05%, to 48,977.92, while the S&P 500 declined 29.98 points, or 0.43%, to 6,878.88. The Nasdaq Composite closed 210.17 points, or 0.92%, lower at 22,668.21.


The Asian indices were trading deep in the red today as the conflict between Iran and the US-Israel escalates. Japan’s Nikkei 225 tumbled almost 2% on its open, with the Topix fell 2.1%. Hong Kong Hang Seng index futures were at 26,465, below the previous close of 26,630.54. South Korea’s markets were closed for a public holiday.


Meanwhile, The GIFT Nifty fell 235 points or 0.93% to trade at 25,050.
