In the final round of the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open, golfing legend Annika Sörenstam delivered one of the most memorable moments in championship golf history—holing a 6-iron from 199 yards for eagle on her final hole in the championship, following her retirement announcement earlier that year.
In partnership with the @usga, we installed a commemorative plaque at the location where it happened. In this video, Annika reflects on what made that moment and that week so special.
🏌️♀️ As the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open takes center stage, we’re proud to celebrate Interlachen’s legacy—and to look ahead to hosting the U.S. Women’s Open again in 2030.
