Atlanta Homeless Crisis 2025 Tents Beneath the Towers of the South

Atlanta may shine as the capital of the South, but behind the glass towers and luxury condos is a very different city. “Atlanta Homeless Crisis 2025: Tents Beneath the Towers of the South” takes you into the streets beneath the overpasses, along Peachtree Street, Memorial Drive and the West End, where fragile tents shake in the wind and worn mattresses replace beds. Each night, more than 3,000 people in Atlanta have no home to return to. Some sleep under bridges and in parks, others in overcrowded shelters that turn families away when the beds run out. In this documentary, Homeless Life Stories walks beside them to hear what the numbers never show: a young woman who just wants to hear her name spoken with kindness again, a mother trying to keep her kids in school while living in a shelter, and people whose lives were derailed by layoffs, rent hikes, illness or addiction. We also look at the systems around them shelters, outreach, rapid housing projects like Melody, Ralph David House and Bonaventure and ask a hard question: are we truly solving homelessness in Atlanta, or just pushing it out of sight beneath the towers of the South?
