Cleveland weather: Accumulating snow on the way Sunday and Monday for Northeast Ohio

As we look ahead to the weekend, Saturday will be a quiet day, but cloudy. Temps will be colder with mid to upper 30s at best.

Snow will begin to develop Saturday night and Sunday looks to be quite the snowy day. Widespread snow showers will work from north to south through all of our viewing area as a trough settles south through the area. In combination with a strong east coast low, the snow will continue into Sunday night and much of the day Monday as it transitions to lake effect. That Monday morning rush hour could be snowy around here. We could see anywhere from 2-6 inches of accumulation by Monday morning with additional snow possible Monday. What a change!

Temps will slowly moderate next week, but it comes with snow changing to rain Wednesday with additional fast moving systems through next weekend.

SATURDAY: Mainly cloudy and colder with a few flurries. Upper 30s.

SUNDAY: Widespread snow. Accumulations in the 2-5 inch range by evening. Low 30s.
