Описание: How Targeted Hyperthermia Therapy Works
Sona’s Targeted Hyperthermia Therapy™ (THT) is a minimally invasive approach designed to selectively destroy tumor cells while activating the immune system.

An established tumor often exists within an immunosuppressive microenvironment that limits immune recognition. In THT, biocompatible gold nanorods are delivered directly into the tumor via intratumoral injection. When exposed to near-infrared laser light, the nanorods convert optical energy into localized heat.

This precisely controlled hyperthermia induces apoptotic tumor cell death and enhances tumor antigen presentation without damaging surrounding healthy tissue. Dendritic cells then capture these tumor antigens and migrate to nearby lymph nodes, where they activate antigen-specific immune cells. These immune cells expand, return to the tumor site, and contribute to the elimination of residual cancer cells.

This mechanism is designed to convert immunologically “cold” tumors into immune-engaged tumors, supporting improved response to cancer therapies.
