Witnessing the Sacred Vow Under the Rain – Walk for Peace | Day 112 (Feb 14, 2026)
On Day 112 of Walk for Peace, we witnessed a moment that will forever remain in our hearts. As rain began to fall over Hương Đạo Vipassana Bhavana Center, thousands stood steadfast — patient, devoted, and filled with love — waiting to welcome the venerable monks home.
In a powerful and deeply moving gesture, Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara stepped out from the dry shelter of the temple roof and walked into the rain to stand directly before the community. Heart to heart, drenched together, he made a sacred vow:
“If you do not leave me, I will not leave you. We will walk this path together.”
This was not simply a speech — it was a lifelong commitment spoken before the Maha Sangha and the entire community. A vow of companionship on the spiritual path. A vow of unity. A vow of love and shared transformation.
Despite the rain, no one turned away. The collective presence of the community became the greatest offering, strengthening the promise made that day. Through storm and sunshine, we walk as one family — caring for one another, supporting one another, and moving forward together.
This moment was blessed by the rain, sustained by faith, and sealed by love.
