A page border is a decorative or functional frame that surrounds the text area of a page in a Microsoft Word document. It can enhance the visual appeal of documents like invitations, certificates, reports, and letters. Page borders can be customized in several ways:

1. Border Styles: You can choose from solid, dashed, dotted, double, or custom patterns.


2. Line Weight & Color: Adjust the thickness of the border lines and select any color to match your design.


3. Artistic Borders: Word provides pre-designed art borders, such as floral patterns, stars, or geometric designs.


4. Page Range: Borders can be applied to all pages, a single page, or selected sections of the document.


5. Margin Options: You can set how far the border is from the edge of the page using margin settings.



How to Add a Page Border:

1. Go to the “Design” tab (Word 2013 and later) or “Page Layout” tab (Word 2010).


2. Click on “Page Borders” in the Page Background group.


3. In the Borders and Shading dialog box, select your border style, color, width, and art (if desired).


4. Choose the Apply to option (whole document, first page only, or specific sections).


5. Click OK to apply the border.
