Have you led your family in hymn singing and family worship? It is the greatest joy this side of heaven you will experience, other than the congregational worship on Sundays. After you read His word, meditate on His goodness, pray for His continued provisions, praise Him for bountiful mercies...what do you do? Your hearts will want to sing. It is the most natural expression of greatest joy and highest love. Praise God for His gift of music!

In the 25 Hymns Project, I hope to encourage all normal moms and dads like me, who are not musicians, to lead their family in hymn singing and family worship, however imperfectly. Even though we may not think of ourselves as musicians, we are, because God's gift of music is meant for all of us. Friends, do not live below your inheritance. God's gift of music is also meant for you!

You can do it. It is not too difficult. I have tried to make it as easy as possible to get started. What a legacy to leave to our children that they will hear their moms and dads singing the great hymns, however imperfectly, with their whole hearts. What a gift to see your parents praising the Lord and loving their Savior at home. Do you want to see your children singing the great hymns with your grandchildren? Then, start a multi-generational tradition today.

We pray for revival abroad, let us pray for revival also in our own hearts and our own homes. O Lord, let the joy of your salvation fill our hearts and home! As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. As for me and my house, we will sing His mercies.
