This roof should have cost around $20,000… but because I had access to a machine that forms the standing seam panels, the material cost was only about $5,000.
In this episode of the Little Yellow House Renovation, I install a standing seam metal roof that completely transforms the house. Metal roofing is one of the most durable roofing systems you can install, especially here in New England where snow, ice dams, and harsh weather can destroy traditional shingle roofs.
Doing the labor myself saved a huge amount of money, but installing a roof like this still takes the right tools, time, and experience.
And to make things a little more interesting… my phone slid right off the roof while I was filming, which definitely added an unexpected expense to the project.
