In January 2026, Steam Incorporated brought AB 608 to Whanganui as part of the city's annual Vintage Weekend. They also brought diesel locomotive DA 1410, which ran in a top-and-tail formation with the AB on trips to Kai Iwi, Ruatangata and Marton. On Sunday morning, the AB took an excursion to Feilding on her own.
As a bonus, this video also features the unique Durie Hill Elevator, an underground lift on the eastern side of the Whanganui River.
