So far, we’ve built motor control logic, added latches and interlocks, and programmed safety circuits.

Now in Episode 5, we unlock one of the most powerful tools in PLC programming: Timers.

Without timers, machines can’t measure or control processes over time. In this lesson, you’ll learn:
🔹 What PLC timers are and why they’re essential
🔹 The 3 main Siemens timers — TON (On-Delay), TOF (Off-Delay), TP (Pulse)
🔹 How timers fit into the PLC scan cycle
🔹 Step-by-step programming of a bottle filling station in Siemens TIA Portal

⚙️ Hands-On Project:
We’ll combine TON, TP, and TOF to build a full filling cycle:
• 3 seconds wait before filling (TON)
• 5 seconds filling time (TP)
• 3 seconds delay after filling (TOF)
• 11-second total cycle (TP)

By the end of this video, you’ll understand how timers control real-world processes.

📝 Homework (Practice):
Try modifying the times (e.g., 2s wait, 7s fill, 4s delay) and simulate how the cycle changes. This helps you master timing in automation.
