Here are three tips to help machine quilting with minky a bit easier!
I'm loading an adorable quilt onto the longarm, I can't wait to share my full process of custom machine quilting this darling quilt, soon in the PNQ Academy.
This quilt backing is minky, so whenever working with minky backing, there are three simple tips that have helped my process much easier.
1st - make sure you're loading against the stretch. This may require quilting a quilt sideways on the longarm machine.
2nd - Make sure the backing is plenty large. Minky can easily distort, so ensuring that the backing is extra large will make your day better.
and 3rd - don't pull the minky too tight. Whether it's between your bars or even the clamps on the sides, you don't want to cause distortion.
Why are these my favorite tips? Because I've learned the hard way, and I don't want you to have to do the same!
