This video will give you more understanding on how to use the auxiliaries, AVOIR (to have) or ÊTRE (to be) at the Passé Composé tense, so you can use it with confidence. Le passé compose as the words describe is a 2 verb structure including the auxiliary ETRE or AVOIR at their present tense. But how will you know which one to chose? Être or Avoir?
I will also guide through how to express the French negation and ask questions, when using le Passé Composé.
This is video lesson 7 of 7. Watch the corresponding lessons, in the correct order, via the full playlist here: • Past Tense French Conjugation For GCSE & B...
Avoir (to have) and être (to be) are both auxiliary verbs used in the perfect tense in French. The majority of words take avoir in the passé composé, e.g. 'I played' becomes j'ai joué. All reflexive verbs in French take être - these are verbs that you do to yourself (e.g. je me suis habillé).
