It's time for another mascot horror game as we archive the HD remaster of the original Mr. Hopp's Playhouse. Previously I delved into the world of Mr. Hopp by playing the third entry and that game was fantastic. Therefore its only natural that the original game is a bit more lowkey and humble, yet it was very fun to experience the origin.
The premise is simple, but very effective. We play as Ruby who finds herself all alone in her home at night. Weird noises can be heard in the background and the scary Mr. Hopp is roaming the house. We need to complete various objectives and avoid Mr. Hopp by hiding behind the furniture. The game is very short, but the gameplay is tight and the scares are plentiful. It's also quite a cheap game so the overall experience was great! I do prefer the third entry with its 3D enviroments and hope that the developers will keep heading into that directions with their upcoming titles.
