Walking the Wainwright Coast to Coast in 2026? With the route officially becoming England’s newest National Trail this March, having the right gear is more important than ever. The Coast to Coast Walk (C2C) is a legendary journey from St. Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay. Crossing three National Parks—the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors—means prepping for everything from boggy peat to rocky scrambles. Since the 2026 upgrades, some route sections have changed, and I’ve updated my long-distance hiking kit to match the new trail standards.
