One of the 'holy grail' delays - the incredible Ibanez AD-80! This is part of the famous '0' series of Ibanez pedals that contained the TS808 Tubescreamer. This particular pedal was made in approx. 1980.
It runs at 18v and contains the MN3005 BBD chip - both of which keep the repeats super-defined and clean. It's said that the AD-80 is as close as it's possible to get to the sound of an Echoplex EP-3 in the BBD world. It has a maximum delay time of 355ms (I measured it in Pro Tools!) and is always eager to jump into self oscillation.
Do you like it? Comment below with your thoughts!
Guitar is a Fender Strat through a Hughes & Kettner Puretone, recorded with a simple SM57 and an sE Electronics RNR1 Ribbon.
