Station 1 | SOI Divestream 862

Описание: This is a just a shallow <~100m on the shelf to obtain sediments. This site is of particular interest to the team surveying with genomics to find Hodarchaeales, which are a member of the Asgard archaea that are closest to eukaryotes on the tree of life. We expect the seafloor to be flat. Once a suitable site is found we will fire the 6 niskins, and those we are just planning on collecting a full set of 18 push cores, after the 6 niskins are fired. We don’t not expect to see rocks or biomats, but if we do we’ll collect some, ok if this is not done.
