IGP storms Esaase Bontefufuo town, impounds excavators in fresh anti-galamsey operation

The Inspector General of Police continues his onslaught on illegal mining storming the farming town of Esaase Bontefufuo in the Amansie West, District of Ashanti.
The miners managed to escape but Four (4) excavators used in the illegal mining activities were impounded.
The move is part of intensified Special Anti-Galamsey Operations mounted by the IGP across Manso Adubia and other areas within the Ashanti Region.
Last week the team met strong resistance from the Bonteso community and had to fire series of warning shots to disperse angry illegal miners.
But ASP Bawah Abdul Jalil, who leads the team says: “These targeted operations would continue to clamp down on illegal mining activities in the area.
A total of 38 personnel, onboard six (6) Service vehicles, participated in the operation.
One of the four excavators was stuck in the mud and could not be moved.
The three other excavators have been successfully transported to the police base at Manso Adubia for investigation and further action.#MyJoyOnline
