This walk begins in the southern part of the city, at Marqués de Vadillo, in the Carabanchel district — a more local, residential side of Madrid, far from the usual tourist crowds.

After crossing the roundabout, you head straight toward the elegant Puente de Toledo. This historic 18th-century bridge is one of Madrid’s most beautiful crossings over the Manzanares River. As you walk across it, the view opens up — riverbanks below, soft city sounds around you, and the skyline slowly shifting toward the historic center.

Once across, you pass through Glorieta de las Pirámides, where the pace of the city begins to change. The modern roads give way to narrower streets as you approach Calle de Toledo, one of Madrid’s oldest and most emblematic streets.

From here, the walk becomes more atmospheric. Calle de Toledo gently climbs uphill toward La Latina. You’ll pass traditional storefronts, small family-run businesses, balconies with hanging laundry, local cafés, and neighbors going about their day. It feels authentic — less polished, more real.

As you reach Plaza de la Cebada, the energy shifts again. This is the gateway to La Latina — lively, social, and full of history. The streets narrow, the buildings lean closer together, and the rhythm becomes more intimate.

You continue through Plaza de la Puerta de Moros and Plaza de los Carros, two charming little squares where Madrid feels almost village-like. Finally, the walk ends at the peaceful Fuente de los Siete Caños, tucked quietly into the neighborhood — a small historic fountain that perfectly captures the old soul of La Latina.
