An 86-year-old man says he’s been slapped with a “ridiculous” £250 littering fine — all because he spat out a leaf that blew into his mouth.
Roy Marsh claims the incident in Skegness, Lincolnshire, shows local enforcement teams have gone “completely out of proportion.”
The litter wardens, who issue fines on behalf of East Lindsey District Council, have now come under fire as residents accuse them of targeting easy victims instead of tackling real problems.
