Lake Hope State Park, McArthur, Ohio - Our Puppy's First Camping Trip! August 2025, Episode 73

Описание: We visited Lake Hope State Park from Sunday, 8/24 to Tuesday, 8/26/2025. This is the 40th Ohio state park we have visited since we started camping in 2021. This park has been on our list for three years, and we had made past reservations there, but for one reason or another, had to cancel - but we finally made it! We had read a lot of FB posts warning of "white-knuckling" up and down the narrow, hilly roads with dropoffs the on edge of the road, and hoping that no vehicles are coming around the curves on the other side. Turns out it wasn't as bad as we were expecting, mainly since they seem to have recently built up the edges and paved them, and also because we have more experience on winding, hilly roads than when we first thought about making this trip.

This was the first camping trip that we were able to bring our new Miniature Golden Retriever puppy, Meadow! We had to wait until she was fully vaccinated, so we hadn't done much camping for the previous couple of months, until this trip. She did great! She loved all the new smells and experiences walking through the campground, and even played on the playground!

We enjoyed kayak fishing in the peaceful lake, even though we didn't catch any fish. It was a very relaxing camping trip, mostly spent acclimating Meadow to the camping life!
