Step 1: Remove the Valve Core and Deflate the Tire

Use a valve core removal tool to remove the valve core from the tire stem.

Let all the air escape. This is essential before breaking the bead.

Step 2: Break the Bead

Place the tire flat on the base of the tire changer with the valve stem away from the bead breaker.

Position the bead-breaking arm against the sidewall of the tire.

Press down on the lever to break the bead. You may need to rotate the tire and repeat to ensure the bead is completely separated from the rim.

Step 3: Mount the Tire on the Machine

Position the rim on the machine’s central hub. Secure it using the locking mechanism or clamps.

Apply a generous amount of lubricant to the bead of the tire to reduce friction.

Step 4: Remove the Tire from the Rim

Insert the tire bar (or spoon) between the bead and the rim.

Use the machine’s rotating arm or manually pry the tire over the rim’s edge.

Rotate the tire as you work, keeping the bar in place to lift the bead over the rim.

Repeat for the opposite bead if necessary.

Step 5: Install the New Tire

Lubricate the new tire’s beads to assist in the installation.

Place the new tire over the rim at an angle.

Use the tire bar to carefully guide the bottom bead over the rim.

Repeat for the top bead, using the same technique.

Step 6: Inflate the Tire

Reinstall the valve core using the valve core tool.

Connect an air compressor to the valve stem.

Begin inflating the tire. Ensure the beads seat properly against the rim using the “pop” sound as an indicator.

Adjust the pressure to the recommended PSI.
