In May, I set out to fly to as many places in Europe as possible, while also flying on as many different airlines and aircraft types as possible. Over a 14 day period I flew on 19 airlines, 21 aircraft types, 30 total flights, all while covering over 31,000 miles. In the end I visited 14 different countries throughout the journey. Over the next few weeks I'll be posting the flights in order, so you too can take this incredible journey, exactly as I did! Flying Around Europe Trip Progress – Flight 1 of 28

Flight 1 Fun Fact – This is more of a whole trip fun fact, but this wasn't supposed to be the first flight of the trip. In fact, at this point, I was supposed to have already been in Europe for over a week... Two weeks before this trip was set to start, I had an issue with a wisdom tooth that had never come in and it had to have it extracted on an emergency basis. The surgeon said it was a 9 out of 10 on the removal difficulty scale. As a result, I was effectively put on bed rest for two weeks and I had to miss the whole first half of this trip. So, what you see here is actually me "intercepting" the second half of the originally planned trip after missing the first week of flights. So, as we go forward through this trip we'll actually get to Europe, fly around a few countries before flying back to the US, just to fly back to Europe again to "make up" the first half of the trip that I missed. This trip ended up having two separate halves instead of being one giant trip all stung tighter. The flight you see here only ended up being a part of this trip because the whole tooth situation arose. And to be honest, I still didn't feel very good when I left on this flight, but I was trying to salvage as much of the original trip as possible.
