Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior (born 12 May 1988), known as Marcelo, is a Brazilian professional footballer for Spanish club Real Madrid and the Brazil national team. He plays mainly at left back but can also operate as a left winger.

He is frequently compared to Roberto Carlos, who himself said Marcelo was his heir, the world's best left back and that "Marcelo possesses a better technical ability than me".

After his breakthrough season, Marcelo was praised by football legends such as Paolo Maldini and Diego Maradona,[6] who also called him the best in his position.

Daniel Alves da Silva (born 6 May 1983), commonly known as Dani Alves (Brazilian Portuguese: [ˈdɐ̃ni ˈawvis]), is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a right back for Italian club Juventus and the Brazil national team. He is widely regarded as one of the best full-backs of his generation.

Before joining Barcelona in 2008, Alves spent a successful six-year spell with Sevilla, winning two UEFA Cups and the Copa del Rey with the Andalusian side. He joined Barcelona for €32.5 million,[3] becoming the third-most expensive defender of all time. He won the Treble in his first season with the club and in the next season he won the Spanish Super Cup, European Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. Additionally, he helped the club to clinch another two Spanish Super Cups, five league titles and two UEFA Champions League in the years that followed. Alves has held a Spanish passport since 2005. He joined Juventus in 2016.

Alves is the second-most decorated footballer of all time in European competitions with nine European medals, leaving him one behind Paolo Maldini on the all-time list.

A full international for Brazil since 2006, Alves was included in their squads for two World Cups and four Copa América tournaments, winning the 2007 edition of the Copa América, as well as the 2009 and 2013 Confederations Cups.
