Join the Center for Animal Law and moderator Cherie Travis for a discussion about Wildlife Trafficking (and other issues) with Christopher Aldrich, Special Agent in Charge U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (Midwest and Mountain-Prarie Region).
This program will be hybrid (in person (Lewis 904) and online). 1.5 hour of IL CLE will be available. Plant-based lunch will be provided to in-person guests.

Bio:
Christopher Aldrich is the Special Agent in Charge for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Office of Law Enforcement in the Midwest and Mountain Regions, overseeing law enforcement activities across sixteen states. With over 34 years of experience in law enforcement, Chris has led numerous high-profile investigations and operations. Previously, Chris served as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for both the Midwest and Pacific Regions, managing all regional operations, budgets, and personnel. He directed several large-scale undercover operations, including multi-agency wildlife trafficking investigations.
As the Resident Agent in Charge in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Chris supervised Special Agents and Wildlife Inspectors in Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio, leading critical wildlife trafficking investigations and managing international border port inspections. In Marquette, Michigan, Chris initiated a major undercover investigation into illegal commercial fishing in the Great Lakes basin, valued at over $7 billion annually. This operation resulted in 26 convictions and $3.9 million in restitution. Chris also serves as a Reserve Special Agent for the Coast Guard Investigative Service and has held roles as an Active Duty Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, a Security Police Officer for the Air Force, and a Michigan Sheriff Deputy.
Cherie Travis (Program Moderator) is an Adjunct Professor of Animal Law at the DePaul University College of Law, teaches at the Chicago Police Academy, co-founded the Chicago Animal Law Student Initiative, served as an Attorney with the Cook County Sheriff's Office, previously was Executive Director of Chicago Animal Care and Control and chaired the Chicago Bar Association's Animal Law Committee.
