Bleeding a radiator is really easy to do as long as you have a radiator key, a bucket, and a towel. The main reason to bleed a radiator is if your radiators aren't heating up properly and you have cold patches. If your radiators are cold at the top but hot at the bottom, it is very likely that there is air trapped in your system. Bleeding a radiator is where you release all the air out of your central heating system. This makes your central heating system and radiators far more efficient.
Another common reason for bleeding your radiators is if there is too much pressure in your central heating system. You can tell this by checking the pressure gauge on your boiler. If it is above 2 bar then you may want to release some pressure by bleeding your radiators.
