his quest for
the ultimate weapon."
Surprise! Did you think you were done with Edge Master Mode just because you beat Cervantes and Soul Edge?
There's actually a post game! Truly, this game keeps giving.
You might have noticed that there's an additional 8th weapon showcased during the credits roll after clearing Edge Master Mode. You can actually earn this weapon after defeating Cervantes and Soul Edge by doing the following:
Once you're back on the world map after the credits finish rolling, your character's 8th weapon secretly spawns at one of the stages adjacent to the Spain stage. (I.e, the stages you can reach with the MOVE command.) All you have to do is find the stage the weapon spawned at, then play it as you normally would.
If you win, you get the secret weapon, your character does a cool pose simple as that.
If you lose, you'll notice your character will do their "loss by time over" pose on the world map. This is your cue that the secret weapon was there, and you almost had it! Upon losing, the secret weapon will then move to another adjacent stage to the one you lost in, and you'll have to repeat the process and seek it out again. Thankfully, the secret weapon doesn't ever permanently vanish, and it's possible to intentionally lose and move your weapon to a mission that's not too hard to consistently win.
... luckily, it's possible to save scum where the weapon spawns to make your life significantly easier:
Saving your progress in Edge Master Mode will also save which potential stages your weapon is hiding in, so you can reload your save if you don't want it to move too far (or to a mission that's too hard).
At the end of the Edge Master playthrough, I saved right after the credits so that the weapon will always spawn near Spain upon loading my save. In this video, I demonstrate the save scum tactic by loading that same save and heading over to Germany to check if the sword is over there. In Sieg's case, it's a 50/50 tossup between Germany and Italy, so it's not too hard to narrow down. And if you goof? It's as simple as reloading and trying again.
... One hilarious set of oki jump slashes later, and bingo-bango we have ourselves our invincible sword, "Soul Edge". That's how to do it!
Also, since I didn't get to showcase the 7 Branch Blade in the main Edge Master playthrough (because it makes throwing Li Long around take way too long), I decided to showcase it (and Sieg's full Critical Edge) here.
"Anger,sadness,agony,horror...
Siegfried's emotions were
devoured by 'SoulEdge.'"
Played on PS1, Medium (default) difficulty. NA version.
Повторяем попытку...
