From 2019 into 2020 had an opportunity to be a part of something extremely rare and special. Cosanti hosted its very last earth casting workshop, a very laborious process that requires years of knowledge and experience to do correctly. Earthcasting is the art of using local earth as formwork for concrete as seen at Cosanti and Arcosanti. The individuals I met on this project were some of the most genuine people I have ever met and it showed the power that architecture has in bringing different people together. I learned a lot about construction, planning, and how a project at this scale is organized into a successful endeavor.
