Описание: In this video, the speaker (Jobin) from IT for Change talks about how useful storytelling is in teaching (pedagogy). He illustrates the usefulness of a story-based approach to teaching by presenting a story from science, a story from mathematics and a story from social sciences. Stories make ideas clearer. In the first story, children are able to compare the habitats of different animals and understand them in relation to their own living spaces. The comparison makes it easier for children to understand the concept. In the second story, children learn fractions through a story that they can easily imagine as happening in their own lives. A strong reason why stories aid learning is that they make children feel comfortable and happy. When they are not in an emotionally stressful state, they are ready for learning. The story about Kabir shows that the method is useful for teaching history and language. The deeper reason why stories work well in the classroom is that as a species, human beings always construct stories, narrate stories and believe in stories.
