I've always loved the Baldur's Gate games, especially the music in them. Ever since I installed the demo for the original Baldur's Gate from a PC Gamer disc many years ago, I played it over and over again. When I started creating orchestral and thematic music I wanted to recreate what it would sound like using today's instruments, sound design, and sound quality. Now that I finally got around to doing so, I present to you the re-orchestrated version of the Main Theme from Baldur's Gate.
All of it was created by ear in Reaper from listening to the original piece. There was no looking at sheet music or anything else.
The VSTs used include East West Quantum Leap's CCC; especially Symphonic Orchestra and StormDrum 2. As well as a few other free vst effects and instruments.
