How to install a Lowrance Point-1 and wire it into a NMEA2000 network for use on a Lowrance HDS unit. The Point-1 is not only a GPS antenna, but also had a heading sensor in it. This will compensate for the GPS's natural error at low speeds to improperly display the boats direction on the GPS. The internal compass of the Point-1 will lock your boat on to the correct heading. This will allow you to know exactly how your boat is positioned in relation to your waypoints when fishing offshore structure.
