At TTM Academy we believe fact checking and correcting mistakes is one of the most essential parts of the learning process in all of the realms of studies that we teach. Turntablists and those who teach the artform are by no means perfect so we can all learn from our mistakes so that we may be better teachers and students in the future. As for The Beat Junkies Institute of Sound, we discovered a few years back that they had been using a white board in their classes and tutorials that contained some incorrect information about the concept of a "musical bar". In this short lecture, we delve into why the mistake was made and how it can be fixed using verbal as well as an example of a transcription of a rap song using Lyrical Transcription Methodology (TTM's little Brother). Thus the lecture focuses on how this whiteboard was used for over a year by the dj school during numerous videos and classes without anyone noticing the error made by them and why correcting such errors is vital to musical education.
