In an interview with TVP World’s Aaron Dahmen, Slovakian opposition leader Michal Šimečka warns that under PM Fico, Slovakia is drifting away from Europe.
“We’re becoming more of a problem than a solution in Europe.”
He condemns Fico’s recent visit to Moscow and pro-Kremlin stance.
“People disapprove of Fico shaking hands with Putin. Slovaks see the suffering in Ukraine.”
Šimečka insists Slovakia remains pro-European and says the current government is out of touch with public sentiment.
“We want strong partnerships, but this government is undermining them.”
TVP WORLD also asked about Slovak-Hungarian relartions:
“Orbán no longer supports European values—but he’s still our neighbor.”
Šimečka confirms he’s ready to be Prime Minister in 2027, promising a return to EU values, reform, and credibility.
