P2837 and P287B 2012-2018 Ford Focus (& Fiesta) With DPS6 Transmission: Common Issues

Описание: This video is a continuation of my series on the 2012-2018 Ford Focus common issue. In this video I go over, what I have seen as, the most common point of failure inside of the DPS6 transmission. The point of failure is a broken shift drum locating tab inside of the transmission case. (I think the proper term what I am calling a locating tab is a stop.) This locating tab is just behind the upper shift drum. This tab is much smaller than the locating tab on the lower shift drum. I also go into a procedure that I came up with to help get a better "feel" or "understanding" of what is wrong with the inside of the gear box before it has to be taken apart. I also go into how I personally like to repair a transmission with this particular failure.

As mentioned in the video codes P2837 and or P287B should be set in the TCM when this problem occurs. You should experience an SES lamp on.

Typically just a transmission case half will be needed. Of course all the one time use parts required for this repair will be needed too. The rest of the transmission should be thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Replace additional parts as needed.

The use of a repair manual is a must when diagnosing and repairing this transmission. Do not use this video as a repair manual....I'm simply sharing my experience with you and giving you a tool to help in this video.

Note: The 6.5 turns and 4.5 turns on the clock gears from stop to stop, mentioned in the video, is approximate.

***Also it is entirely possible that a faulty TCM could be the cause of these codes. However, I have yet to see a TCM fail in this particular way.
