The protracted Ukraine conflict has upended the lives of millions of people who have been directly affected by it. The resulting humanitarian catastrophe has deepened with lives and livelihoods shattered, and critical infrastructure destroyed. Moreover, its consequences have extended far beyond the theatre of conflict, compromising economic stability, disrupting global supply chains and exacerbating food and energy insecurity across regions, particularly impacting the developing nations.
At the 11th Emergency Special Session(resumed) of the UN General Assembly today, Counsellor Kamran Taj stated that Pakistan has consistently supported peaceful settlement of disputes.
"We, once again, urge all parties to silence the guns and wholeheartedly embrace dialogue as the only viable option to end this devastating conflict." Feb 24
