Faxi Falls: Why Tourists Skip This Beauty

Описание: Faxi is a not so well-known waterfall in southern Iceland. Faxi Falls is approximately twelve kilometres (seven miles) away from Gullfoss and Geysir, two incredibly popular attractions on the Golden Circle. You can get really close to the waterfall for dramatic photos or videos. You can visit all highlights in one day. So don't forget to visit Faxifoss, as it is sometimes called.

This waterfall is 32 meters (105 feet) tall, falling in two tiers into a lovely canyon. It is fed by the Hvita River. This is one of the most popular rivers for rafting in the country.

The Faxi Waterfall is located in the Tungufljót river, which has its origin in the Sandvatnn, a small lake south of the Langjökull glacier. The river eventually flows into the Hvítá which flows past Selfoss. There is a fish ladder in the Faxi, as you can see on the video.
