King Charles and the royal family hosted German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier at a lavish state banquet at Windsor Castle on Wednesday (3 December).
In a speech, parts of which were delivered in German, the King spoke of Britain and Germany's "deep friendship" and the need for the countries to stand together in the face of "Russian aggression".
