The History of this 1945 Beetle: Following World War II, the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg was placed under British trusteeship. British Major Ivan Hirst played a key role in restarting the plant. This 1945 model is one of the first 55 units ever produced for civilian and military use before the factory's full-scale recovery.
