In this video, we explore the inner workings of a pin tumbler lock as well as how a bump key can bypass this locks design to open the lock without the key that goes to that lock. By the end of this video, you will have gained an understanding of the engineering principles that most likely keep your home and car locked as well as one method to open the lock without the correct key.

SOFTWARE USED
SOLIDWORKS was exclusively used to make this video. The Lock, keys, and bump hammer were all modeled from scratch in SOLIDWORKS. The motion animations, and simulations, were also all accomplished using SOLIDWORKS Simulation add-ins.
