The Greater Poland Uprising (1918 – 1919) – How the Poles Defeated the Germans in Poznań

Описание: The Greater Poland Uprising was a conflict after WW1. In the aftermath of the Great War the Poles took up arms to take over Greater Poland (Wielkopolska). This conflict is also known as the Posnanian War (Powstanie Wielkopolskie) where the Poles first seized control over Poznań (Posen) after a nationalists speech by Ignacy Paderewski. After this the Polish insurgents battled against the German Freikorps. After the Treaty of Versailles the Posen area was officially given to the Second Polish Republic.
