Media Transcript:
[A camera moves through sea grass on the bottom of the ocean. Quiet instrumental music plays]

Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary is home to critters of all shapes and sizes.

[Two sea lions swim underwater]

Some sanctuary dwellers, like orcas and sea otters are well known.

[Rocky outcrops jut out from the ocean, and a forest is visible in the background. The camera pans underwater, as if a wave has crashed over it]

But beneath the waves live less-known, but equally spectacular, creatures.

[An orange jellyfish with long, red tentacles swims underwater]

From the Pacific sea nettle…

[A yellow sea slug sits atop a coral reef]

to sea slugs…

[White mushroom-like anemones attached to coral reefs move with the ocean current]

to sea anemones.

[The camera pans over sea grass and anemones on a reef, then shows a diver shining a flashlight on a small jellyfish]

All of these organisms and more call the cold waters of your national marine sanctuary home, and benefit from the sanctuary’s protection.

[The camera cuts to a shot of an anemone on a coral reef. The screen fades to black, and credits slide onto the screen. The Earth is Blue logo appears first, followed by “sanctuaries.noaa.gov/earthisblue”. Below, the NOAA and National Marine Sanctuaries logos appear. Finally, credits are listed:
“Footage: David Ruck/ NOAA
Editor: Shannon Shikles/ NOAA
Music: Killer Tracks”]
