Royal Manor - The Craic Show Mead Review - Blackberry Melomel - Mead Monday!

Описание: Royal Manor is a Meadery and Winery in Florida! They make many flavors of mead, wine and cider, and we happen to have a bottle of "The Craic Show" that we purchased from the owner at the Sarasota Medieval Festival a few months ago. We haven't opened it, so... this is an uncorking, and a tasting of this blackberry melomel or blackberry mead.

Mead is essentially a wine made from honey. To be considered mead, 50% or more of the fermentables (sugars, what yeast consumes and turns into alcohol) must come from honey. Now... that opens up a world of possibilities, since you can add fruit, herbs, spices, etc to that must and create something truly unique and flavorful in your mead! Royal Manor has done just that by adding blackberries to the honey wine to create a blackberry mead, also known as a melomel, which simply is a fruit flavored mead.
