Translation:
Tounge Soup (an expression in kajkavski dialect that means "sermon")
I learned a lot of things
I learned that the tradition in Međimurje is very important.
Keeping lots of things
tibet raubec {scarves used in traditional costume}
nošnja {traditional dress}
Songs
Keeping everything until the river Mura is still quietly flowing {reference given to a song titled Rijeka Mura Tiho Šumila which Chriztel also sings in some events}
Food [tradition] is also important to keep (everything is delicious to me)
Beef noodles soup
Punjena paprika (a dish in Croatia which is minced meat mixed with rice put inside bell pepper and cooked in tomato sauce)
Spinach [soup]
Zlevenka (a traditional Međimurje baked dish)
My mom cooks, one day bulalo
Next day sinigang, then adobo
RICE everyday (no rice, no life)
A specialty of my mom
Has an unlikeable taste
It makes me cry everytime
I found out in Međimurje
That it has a name
I [now] know the name
The name is Jezikova Juha {sermon e.g. when parent discipline their child thru words}
I wrote for you the recipe:
Mom - one and only
Love - infinite kilograms
Srditost {galit / anger} - 250 grams
Jezik - one {a play of words on the poem open for interpretation that could mean tongue or language)
While [food is] cooking, stand up steadily like a statue, be quiet as a mouse, hold your breath and look away
Whatever mom is cooking
I eat
Whatever jezikova juha (sermon) that doesn't taste good
I'm filled
And that is why the tradition needs to be kept/preserved.
Jezikova juha
Suhe jezike
Jezik
