A legend whichever way you look at it, the AC Cobra or Shelby Cobra is a car that was the result of Carroll Shelby’s engineering genius and AC Cars of Britain’s experience with diminutive open-topped sports cars. Stuffing an American V8 into a compact British roadster body created this mad machine, of which less than 1,000 original examples were made between 1962 and 1967. Today, getting your hands on an original Cobra is a difficult and rather expensive task. It’s not uncommon to find mint examples of the original being sold for high six, or even seven figure prices. Thankfully, outfits such as Factory Five Racing exist, and build fine replicas. They even endow them with some modern touches and creature comforts, such as what this 1965 Shelby Cobra by Factory Five Racing comes with.
