The COVID-19 pandemic has caused uncertainty in our lives, including our finances. Fraudsters are capitalizing on the confusion by attempting to steal bank account numbers, login information, and other personal information. You could receive an email, text message, or phone call from someone posing as a Citizens Bank employee. So how can you tell if it’s from us or a fraudster?

Here are some tips:

• They will never send you any unsolicited email or text message asking for your personal or financial information. If you receive such a message, do not reply and do not click on any links. Forward the message to [email protected] and then delete it.

• They will never call you and ask for your PIN, password, or other sensitive information. If you receive such a call, hang up and call us at 1-800-922-9999 to report it.

• They will never ask you to verify your account information by clicking on a link. If you receive such a request, do not click on the link. Forward the email to [email protected] and then delete it.

If you suspect you’ve been a fraud victim or given your personal information to a scammer, please call us immediately at 1-800-922-9999, so they can help.
