Phantom Nexus is a VGM OST for a game that never was. Or perhaps it did exist, once upon a time, but now only the music remains.
I've been meaning to check out the Soundpaint engine for some time but I couldn't help but dive straight in once I discovered the 1999 Soprano Sax Moonlight instrument. I continue to be impressed with how simple it is to get very nuanced and flowing sound from Soundpaint stuff, and the sax is no exception.
I also used Native Instruments Noire piano with the particle engine engaged for much of the dreamy piano. Noire remains my favorite piano and I constantly find myself reaching for it for sketching and production.
Also featured in the song is the free piano included with the Soundpaint engine, in various states of effect.
Faded Leylines is inspired by playing too much Minecraft and soaking in the atmospheric compositions of C418.
